Another week goes by and another round of Colorado Soccer happenings are coming your way. This past week was jam packed and even at the midpoint of this current week, there is even more soccer happening on the horizon.

The Backs' played at home against MLS side Sporting Kansas City and showed what the USL was all about. They did not play over the weekend allowing them some rest and a chance to get healthy for this David vs Goliath of a match.

The Switchbacks remain unbeaten at home and have picked up a third Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup win at home. They are unsatisfied in their progression of the season regarding their recent form. A cupset win against SKC is sure to bolster their mood heading in to the rest of the week.
The Rapids had a bit more of a busy week. They first thrashed Houston Dynamo over the weekend with a 6-2 score. Kosi Thompson and Georgi Minoungou's debuts left a rather strong first impression and their recent inclusions have already started paying dividends. Our Burgundy Banter live show was just as chaotic as the scoreline.
And, as mentioned before, they advanced in the U.S. Open Cup last night in what was less of a thrashing and more of a slow burn. They beat Union Omaha 1-0 at home to advance.
However, our BSF week was not kicked off by either of these two teams. Rapids 2 played on the road to St. Louis 2 and came away with an early 2-0 lead. Los Rapidos couldn't capitalize on the early lead and conceded twice after the break with the equalizer coming at the death. They lost in the ensuing penalties. What would have been their first win of the season was snapped away from them leaving them winless in five. The R2 and first team "level of good" seesaw remains unbalanced.

The "Table Watch" segment of the Newsletter will be back soon enough once I start making the graphics for the standings instead of screenshotting various tables. That's it for this week. A short one given our recent content push elsewhere around the site. Have a great rest of your week and be sure to drop by to watch some Burgundy Banter after the Miami game!
